Before I became interested in making digital images on paper, my primary output was art as jewelry. My trade as a bench jeweler gave me the skill set to produce anything I could think of in the way of jewelry design. I have produced a modest amount of thoughtful beautiful artwork the past forty or so years . the first years of producing artwork I used stones, shells, plexiglass, glass, and pearls, to accent and embellish the designs. However, in the past thirty five years I have lost interest in using anything other than metal. I have been partial to celebrating the design in metal by itself alone and more interested in the design speaking for itself rather than having my designs smothered with the clutter of the unnecessary. Those days of the early and mid seventies when I used shells and coral and stones and the like, are gone. I wish they could be revisited but for me it's not like that. They may return but for the most part those lines aren't in me anymore. These new digital images are flowing and my interest is set on them.
